PreviousADDITIONAL BENEFITS OF INSTALLING A CLASS 2 DC DISTRIBUTIVE LIGHTING SYSTEM

Last updated 2 years ago

In addition to Class 2 distributed DC lighting, a comprehensive package/system can be created utilizing specially made low voltage bathroom fans and low voltage ceiling fans, both with integrated LED lighting (see Figure 24).

The bathroom fan (CL-LED-24-SDS8FL-WH30-01) can move 110 CFM of air while only using 14W of power and provide 1100 lumens of light. That is equivalent to a 100W traditional light bulb. The ceiling fan (CL-LED-24-C38CF-BN30-01), on its highest setting, provides 3900 CFM of airflow consuming only 20W of power. The integrated LED light also provides 1100 lumens of light.

A wireless low voltage wall controller is also included with the ceiling fan. See Figure 25 for a simplified wiring schematic. The wall controller enables the user to adjust fan speed, fan direction and light intensity. A timer function is also incorporated into it. The 20-bit wall controller uses a rolling encryption resulting in 1,048,576 possible combinations, hence the probability of interference with other fans is extremely unlikely.
